Las Vegas Sands selling the Venetian for $6.3B

Las Vegas Sands Corp. announced on Wednesday it will sell its Venetian Las Vegas resort, to Apollo Global Management Inc. for $6.25 billion.

The transaction includes the real estate property and related operations. It is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.

"The Venetian changed the face of future casino development and cemented Sheldon Adelson's legacy as one of the most influential people in the history of the gaming and hospitality industry," Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Robert Goldstein said.
