General Motors Co., in partnership with LG Chem Ltd., is looking into options to build a second battery factory in the United States, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday. A spokesman for the carmaker stated that the companies could announce a decision in the first half of this year. According to the report, the partners are "close to completing a decision to locate the plant in Tennessee." GM and LG Chem already agreed to invest up to $2.3 billion in a battery cell assembly plant in Ohio. |
