European equities closed in the red on Friday except for the German DAX that finished 0.36% higher. Deutsche Bank’s shares jumped 4.57% on reports that it could get a better deal on settling an investigation into residential mortgage-backed securities with the Department of Justice under the presidency of Donald Trump. The CAC 40 lost 0.92%. The worst performer was LafargeHolcim declining 3.1%. Lafarge and Holcim have started the merger process of their cement companies in Bangladesh in accordance with their global plan. The FTSE 100 fell 1.43%. Fresnillo plunged 7.53%. The euro lost 0.4% against the dollar, changing hands for 1.0842 at 5:55 p.m. CET. At the same time, sterling gained 0.42% against the greenback, buying 1.2601.
