The leakage on the Iranian oil tanker, which reportedly suffered a missile attack yesterday, has been fully stopped, according to an official.

"The cargo leakage has stopped," an unnamed official told Iran's Mehr agency on Saturday. "The tanker is heading for Persian Gulf waters and we hope it will enter Iranian waters safely," the official added.

On Friday, the National Iranian Oil Company informed that Sabiti tanker suffered damage from an explosion, claiming it was caused by missiles shot from 60 miles away from the Jeddah, the Saudi port city on the Red Sea. The investigation is yet to determine whether Iran's accusations are true about the incident which threatens to further aggravate the already fragile relations between Riyadh and Tehran.
