The United Kingdom government believes that the trial results of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE are likely to come before those of the jab developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca Plc, the Times reported citing sources close to the British Cabinet.

According to the report, the UK officials expect Pfizer's vaccine to be ready for distribution before the end of 2020.

Pfizer announced on Tuesday that the company plans to apply for an emergency-use application as early as November if the trial yields positive results.
