Renault shares fall as Nissan reportedly mulls alliance exit

Shares of Renault SA slid 3% on Monday on fresh concerns about the future of the carmaker's alliance with Nissan in the aftermath of its former chairman Carlos Ghosn's arrest.

According to media reports, Nissan's leadership is considering the possibility of breaking up the alliance and stepping up contingency plans for such a scenario. Following Ghosn's arrest over financial misconduct at the Japanese carmaker, both Renault and Nissan insisted they were committed to the alliance and announced plans to revitalize their partnership.

Renault dropped 2.94% to €40.61 at 11:43 am CET.
