European markets close mixed on coronavirus worries

European equities closed mixed on Tuesday as concerns about the COVID-19 situation in Europe, and a deadline for the American fiscal stimulus to be agreed weighed on market sentiment. Meanwhile, producer prices in Germany fell by 1% year-over-year in September. Also, energy prices dropped 3.3% per annum with petroleum products decreasing 17.9% and prices of natural gas falling 8.2%.

The DAX fell by 0.76% with Fresen Med care falling by 5.52%. The CAC 40 inclined 0.25%. Saint Gobain was the best performer jumping by 7.90%. The FTSE 100 went up by 0.26% as Informa Plc increased by 5.03%.

The euro was up 0.50% against the dollar at 5:25 pm CET, buying 1.18282. The pound jumped 0.11% compared to the US currency, to go for 1.29600 at the same time.
