Europe ends higher after May's deal fails again

Markets in Europe ended a day of trading in the green on Friday as investors digested the latest news from Britain where United Kingdom's lawmakers rejected Prime Minister Theresa May's withdrawal agreement with 286 MPs voting in favor and 344 opposing the motion. This marked the third time the deal was defeated in Parliament. Meanwhile, the trade talks between the United States and China were also in focus with the next round of negotiation set to take place in Washington next week.

In Germany, the DAX gained 0.76% at the closing bell. Thyssenkrupp was the main advancer, up 3.77%. Meanwhile, Eurostoxx 50 added 0.83%.

French CAC 40 finished 0.74% higher.

London's FTSE 100 traded 0.71% at the close with Anglo American among the biggest gainers, increasing 2.93%.

The euro was almost flat against the US dollar, up 0.02% at 5:45 pm CET.
