Pound falls after Juncker no-deal comments

The pound increased its losses on Wednesday after outgoing European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker warned that there is a "real" risk of a no-deal Brexit as little time remains for talks. Meanwhile, data published by the British Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed producer prices in the United Kingdom increased by 1.6% in August and inflation fell to 1.7% last month.

The pound was down 0.47% at 1040 am CET, changing hands at 1.24404 against the dollar and the euro gained 0.21% compared to the British currency to go for 0.88780 at 10:38 am CET.
