EIA: US oil inventories up by 1.1M barrels

Crude oil inventories in the United States increased by 1.1 million barrels to 417.1 million barrels in the week ending September 13, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported on Wednesday.

US crude oil refinery inputs averaged of 16.7 million barrels per day, down by 788,000 barrels per day from the previous week. Refineries operated at 91.2% of their capacity, while gasoline production declined from the week before, averaging 9.5 million barrels per day.

Imports of crude oil in the US averaged 7.1 million barrels per day, up by 326,000 barrels per day from the previous week. Total commercial petroleum inventories rose by 0.9 million barrels.
