The government of the United Kingdom is ready to suspend plans to pass the withdrawal agreement if the schedule isn't passed immediately, though only if the European Union grants a Brexit extension until January 31, the BBC's political editor learned on Tuesday. According to Laura Kuenssberg's anonymous source from Prime Minister Boris Johnson's cabinet, such an offer from Brussels would open the way for a snap election "before Christmas."

The insider added "there will be no further business for Parliament" in case the program motion can't be agreed tonight. The Twitter post reveals "there have been pretty fraught conversations" within the ranks of the Conservative Party and that some of the arguments have been in favor of "keep going and accept a slower timetable."
