Asian markets mostly lower after weak data released

Asian markets traded lower on Monday as Japan released a weak trade balance data showing a fall of 98%. Meanwhile, the protests in Hong Kong continued for the 23rd consecutive week as two protesters were shot by police while trying to block the major roads.

The Hang Seng lost 1.39% at 2:55 am CET while the Nikkei 225 and the Kospi fell 0.06% and 0.65% at the same time, respectively. The Shanghai Composite slipped 0.89% at 2:43 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite went down 0.98% at 2.59 am CET. The S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.58% at 3:00 am CET.

The dollar lost 0.06% against the yen, changing hands for 109.1460 at 3:00 am CET.
