Alaska gov. considers LNG exports to Japan, Asia

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Alaska may be exported to Japan and other Asian countries, Alaska's Governor Michael Dunleavy told Nikkei Asian Review on Saturday.

"If one of these projects, or another project that comes up -- if that makes economical sense, that's a good thing because we just want to monetize our gas," Dunleavy stressed, claiming that Alaska can offer "competitively priced" LNG to Asian markets.

According to Alaska's governor, his state's position allows cheaper and faster liquefied natural gas delivery to Asia compared to the other exporters.
