Deutsche Bank (DB) Chairman Paul Achleitner (pictured) unveiled on Wednesday he will step down once his second five-year term ends in 2022.

"I won’t seek re-election. After 10 years in this role, it has to be enough," Achleitner announced at the DB's annual general meeting with shareholders.

He joined the bank in 2012 as chairman of the supervisory board, while he previously served as Allianz AG's chief financial officer for 12 years.
