Bayer agrees to $8-10B settlement in glyphosate case - report

German pharmaceutical giant Bayer AG has agreed to settle with the thousands of plaintiffs in the case regarding its glyphosate-based weed killer Roundup in a deal worth between $8 and $10 billion, Handelsblatt reported on Tuesday.

Earlier this week, a federal appeals court in the United States blocked California from requiring Bayer to label the popular herbicide with a cancer warning.

Shares of Bayer soared 5.13% to €71.11 a share at 12:20 pm CET on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
