Euronext N.V. will buy the Italian Stock Exchange for €4.33 billion from the London Stock Exchange Group plc, AFP reported on Friday citing an official statement.

The acquisition negotiations, which began on September 18, have reached a positive outcome, according to the outlet. "We believe the sale of the Borsa Italiana group will contribute significantly to addressing the EU's competition concerns," LSE's Chief Executive David Schwimmer commented on the deal which should finalize during the first half of 2021.

The Italian Bourse is the country's only stock exchange, and is based in the city of Milan. Since 2007, it is a subsidiary of the London Stock Exchange Group plc.
