Consumer prices in Japan unchanged in September

Japan's Consumer prices index stood at 102.0 in September, unchanged compared to the same month a year ago, the country's Statistics Bureau revealed on Friday. On a monthly basis, consumer prices decreased by 0.1%.

Excluding fresh food and energy, the annual inflation rate stood at zero in September. Furniture and household utensils' prices jumped 3% year-on-year, while the education-related charges dropped by 10.3% compared to September 2019.

The prices of goods were up by 1% annually, while services' prices declined by 0.9%.
