Dow jumps over 300 points on economic recovery hopes

The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped over 300 points on Thursday after positive GDP data and amid the earnings season. Investor focus remains on who will take over the White House in January, with early voting in full bloom ahead of the November 3 election.

The Dow rose 320 points and gained 1.20% at 2:11 pm ET as Apple soared 4.66% at 2:13 pm ET ahead of its earnings release which is due after the bell. The Nasdaq jumped 2.50% at 2:14 pm ET, with Moderna surging 9.99% at the same time. The S&P 500 increased by 1.81% at 2:15 pm ET as CBRE Group jumped 14.18% at 2 pm ET.

The euro lost 0.73% compared to the dollar to go for 1.16608 at 2:15 pm ET to reach one-month lows.
