Japan's Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga revealed on Monday that the government is not considering lowering the sales tax used to fund social security.

While the uncertainty regarding economic outlook remains "quite high," the official data coming from Japan showed earlier today that the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 3% in August.

The Asian country reported several hundreds of new COVID-19 cases each day in recent times, with the total tally counting slightly more than 101,000 positive cases. However, most cases are closed and are pointing toward a 2% death rate from the coronavirus.
