DAX, CAC fall after negative report on US-China deal

The DAX and the CAC 40 lost considerably on Monday after reports from Beijing claimed that the Chinese government is pessimistic about the chances of a trade deal with the United States. London's FTSE 100 remained flat. Meanwhile, the European Central Bank's Chief Economist Philip Lane said that the ECB is ready for every Brexit scenario.

Frankfurt's DAX lost 0.67% at 3:37 pm CET and the CAC 40 in Paris dropped 0.55% at 3:22 pm CET. The FTSE 100 was flat at 3:38 pm CET.

The euro was 0.07% higher compared to the US dollar at 3:39 pm CET, trading at 1.10618. The pound gained 0.45% against the American currency, going for 1.29625 a minute later.
