Pound hits two-month high after Juncker comments

The British pound jumped and hit highs last seen in mid-July on Thursday after European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker stated that a deal between the United Kingdom and the European Union can be reached before October 31.

The pound surged 0.62% to go for 1.25488 against the dollar at 7:31 pm CET. The euro lost 0.38% compared to the pound to trade at 0.88109 at 7:33 pm CET.
