Trump: I'm not fan of big tech, but I oppose digital tax

United States President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he is "not a fan" of big American technology companies, but stressed that he is against them facing digital tax in the European Union. Trump added that if anyone should tax firms like Amazon and Facebook, it should be the US.

Speaking alongside Italian President Sergio Mattarella, Trump said he did not talk about the issue with the Italian head of state, but pointed out he had previously discussed the issue with France. The US president said he is unhappy France wants to tax the companies and stated that that was why he decided to impose taxes on French wine entering the US.

However, Trump also blamed Facebook as he claimed he lost 2 million votes in the 2016 US election because of the company.
