Dow drops 250 pts at close

Major stock market indexes on Wall Street finished the last trading day of the week in the red as investors await this weekend's Brexit developments. Weaker growth in China contributed to negative sentiment at the end of the week which saw the start of the third quarter earnings season.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped just over 250 points or 0.95% at the closing bell. Boeing lost 6.79% after documents showed the company's pilots had warned of 737 Max flaws as early as 2016. Meanwhile, Johnson & Johnson declined 6.22% as it was revealed its baby powder contained traces of asbestos. The Nasdaq 100 fell 0.93% as Netflix shares plummeted 6.15% after jumping earlier in the week in the aftermath of the streaming company's earnings report. The S&P 500 declined 0.39%.

The euro was up 0.34% against the dollar at 4:02 pm ET, going for 1.11620.
