The United States Trade Representative may include some of Amazon.com Inc.'s foreign marketplaces to its list of "notorious markets" known for selling pirated goods and not taking steps to eliminate them, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal report published on Friday.

The list is updated annually and is set to be released in the coming weeks, the sources have said. Alibaba's Taobao.com was added to the list in 2016, during the Obama administration. Others include torrent sites, file hosting websites and Russian social network VKontakte. Chinese e-commerce giant Baidu was removed from the list in 2014 after settling a music copyright settlement.
