Europe mixed in premarket as COVID-19 woes subside

Stocks on European markets traded mixed in premarket on Thursday as investors' concerns over the coronavirus pandemic started to diminish. Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom and France saw their daily increases in COVID-19 fatalities going down compared to the record highs.

On the data front, investors await economic reports from Germany and the euro area that are set to be released later today. Meanwhile, as the earnings season heats up, Renault reported that its sales plunged 25.9% in the first quarter of the fiscal year while Credit Suisse Group's revenue grew 7% over the same period.

The DAX added 0.25% at 7:47 am CET while the FTSE 100 in London decreased by 0.21% at the same time. The CAC 40 gained 0.45% at 8:03 am CET.

The euro was flat at 7:48 am CET, changing hands for $1.08274.
