European stocks mostly flat in premarket

Friday, 14. August 2020 08:01

Shares on major European stock markets were mostly subdued during premarket trading ahead of the open on Friday.

Stocks closed with losses at the end of the previous session despite better-than-expected jobless claims from the United States. The continued deadlock in Washington over the next stimulus bill was also in focus, along with coronavirus developments. On the data front, GDP and trade figures for the euro area were set for a release later in the day.

The DAX and the CAC 40 were flat at 8:00 am CET. Meanwhile, the FTSE 100 was up 0.17%.
