Apple to cut app store fees to 15% for small app makers

Apple said on Wednesday it will introduce its App Store Small Business Program through which it plans to cut its App Store commission rate to 15% for application makers whose net sales is less than $1 million.

At the moment, Apple charges a 30% commission from the total price of paid apps and in-app purchases from the App Store and the new program will begin on January 1.

However, the company will still take a 30% fee for in-app purchases for top-grossing apps, in order to minimize the impact on Apple’s financials
