Wall Street turns to gains after slow start

Major indexes on Wall Street turned to gains on Friday after Oxford University said its rapid COVID-19 test is promising. Later in the day, United States President Donald Trump will take part in a Latinos for Trump roundtable and he will speak about his plan for black economic empowerment.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was flat at 10:27 am ET, increasing 0.01%. The Nasdaq 100 gained 0.49% at the same time as Trip.com surged 7.19% at 10:28 am ET. The S&P 500 rose 0.19% at 10:28 am ET, with cruise companies leading the gains. Norwegian Cruise Lines jumped 8.13% at 10:14 am ET.

The euro lost 0.39% at 10:29 am ET to go for 1.16262 against the dollar.
