Wall Street closes higher as US expands testing

Major indexes on Wall Street ended the session in the green on Monday as the US President Donald Trump revealed the government plans to distribute 150 million Abbott-produced rapid tests on COVID-19 in the "coming weeks." In business news, shares of Virgin Galactic soared over 23% after several firms recommended buying the space tourism company's stock. United Airlines announced that it will manage to avoid a part of its planned furloughs in October, while General Motors Company (GM) said that it intends to invest $71 million into two factories in Ohio.

The Dow Industrial Average finished 1.51% higher with Boeing Company leading the gains at 6.44%. The Nasdaq 100 was up 1.91% as Trip.com Group limited climbed 6.14%. The S&P 500 ended at 1.61%. The top performer was Devon Energy Corp. advancing 11.11%.

The euro gained 0.31% compared to the dollar to go for 1.16662 at 3:55 pm ET.
