Wall Street mostly flat in premarket after rally

Shares on Wall Street were mostly muted during premarket trading on Tuesday following a rally during the previous session.

On the data front, trade balance statistics for August were in focus, as well as a slew of speeches by Fed officials. Meanwhile, the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and his opponent in November's election, Joe Biden, was scheduled to take place later in the day.

The Dow Jones declined 0.6% at 4:25 am ET. At the same time, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq 100 were flat. Meanwhile, the euro was up 0.09% against the dollar, going for 1.16773.
