Dow erases gains after manufacturing activity data

The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost much of its early session's gains after the Institute for Supply Management's report revealed that the manufacturing activity in the United States demonstrated signs of slowing down compared to the previous month.

Also, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reportedly showed little enthusiasm in regards to the positive outcome of the latest round of negotiations on the COVID-19 stimulus deal.

The Dow Jones briefly dipped into the negative territory but moved 0.23% higher at 10:18 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 advanced 0.92% a minute later. At the same time, the S&P 500 grew by 0.33%. The euro advanced by 0.13% versus the dollar, selling for $1.17355 at 10:23 am ET.
