Europe flat to higher in premarket with Brexit in focus

European stocks traded flat to higher in premarket on Tuesday as investors focused on the trade negotiations between the United States and China, as well as the latest developments regarding Britain's departure from the European Union.

A United Kingdom government spokesperson confirmed the country's Parliament will vote on Prime Minister Theresa May's Brexit deal next week, while Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar noted that the EU is willing to provide written assurances on the Irish backstop. On the data front, German industrial production was reported to have dropped 1.9% month on month in November, while UK house prices are due for release later in the day.

The FTSE 100 and the DAX traded flat, while the CAC 40 added 0.12% and the Euro Stoxx 50 was up 0.09% in premarket trading. The euro lost 0.29% against the dollar to sell for 1.1444 at 8:54 am CET.
