Wall Street closes higher as Lyft kicks off IPO roadshow

Major stock markets in the United States finished the Monday's trading session in the green as the Dow Jones Industrial Average erased its opening losses. US Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue claimed talks with China were still "very dynamic." Ride-hailing company Lyft Inc.'s launched the investor roadshow for its initial public offering. French Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety reported "clear similarities" between Boeing Co.'s 737 MAX recent plane crashes were found.

At the close, the Dow was 0.25% higher, as Goldman Sachs Group Inc. advanced 2.12%. The Nasdaq 100 increased 0.26%, hoisted by Marriott International Inc., which announced its plans to open more than 1,700 hotels by 2021. The S&P 500 grew 0.37% at the same time, with Edwards Lifesciences Corp surging 6.26% following the news of its aortic valve surgical treatment trial success.

The euro traded 0.14% up to $1.13412 at 3:59 am ET, while the pound fell 0.24% to $1.32592 concurrently. Palladium was still on the rise, reaching the record-breaking value of $1,577.50 at 3:59 am ET.
