US markets lower premarket after Trump's comments

United States stock markets traded with losses during premarket trading on Friday, as investors await the latest batch of the preliminary Purchasing Managers Indices later in the day. US President Donald Trump made a number of indicative statements before the opening bell, saying that the Federal Reserve is interfering with the country's economic growth with rate hikes and that the European car manufacturers will be able to avoid import tariffs if they build plants in the US.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down by 0.61% at 8:31 am ET. At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500 lost 0.37% and 0.50%, respectively.

The euro lost 0.65% against the dollar at 8:33 am ET, going for $1.1301. The pound rose 0.35% against the greenback at the same time, buying $1.3153.
