Dow falls over 250 pts ahead of data

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.08% or 282 points at 9:59 am ET ahead of private sector activity, housing, and wholesale inventory data. Meanwhile, Nike shares fell after the company released its Q3 earnings after the bell yesterday, showing weaker sales growth in North America.

Elsewhere, US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin are set to travel to Beijing next week for another round of trade negotiations with China.

The Dow Jones was down 0.93%, or 239 points at 10:08 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 fell 0.82% at the same time. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 was trading 0.82% in the negative territory.
