Lufthansa stocks dip on quarterly loss

The flagship airline of Germany, Deutsche Lufthansa AG, dipped over 1% on Tuesday after posting its financial results for the first three months of 2019, marked by a loss before interest and tax of €336 million ($380 million). In the same period a year ago, the airline recorded a loss of €52 million.

The company blamed the rise in fuel costs of €202 million, however, it expects the revenues to rise in the second quarter.

At 9:57 am CET, Lufthansa was the worst performer on the DAX, down 1.45% to €21.76, lowest since last Thursday.
