Boeing 737 MAX to stay grounded into December - report

Monday, 02. September 2019 05:06

The Boeing Co.'s 737 MAX airplane could remain out of service during the Christmas holidays due to disputes with international air-safety authorities, the Wall Street Journal reported.

According to the newspaper, regulators from the United States, European Union, Brazil and elsewhere have complained that the American plane maker failed to provide technical details and answer specific questions about modifications in the operation of MAX flight-control computers at a briefing in August. Because of this, Boeing will have to resubmit briefing documents describing proposed software changes, sources told the WSJ.

The problematic airplane has been grounded since March 2019 following two deadly crashes in which 346 people lost their lives.
