Wall Street closes higher on trade optimism

Stock markets in the United States went up on Friday after the US Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin said he had discussed reopening of economy, further trade collaboration, and responses to the COVID-19 pandemic with the United Kingdom Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak and Treasurer of Australia Josh Frydenberg. The United States Federal Reserve (Fed) reported in its Monetary Policy Report that the economic "path ahead is extraordinarily uncertain."

The Dow Jones Industrial Average traded higher at the end of the session with Boeing Co. inclining by 11.49%. At the same time, the S&P 500 went up by 1.31% with the United Airlines Holding going up for 19.03%. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq 100 increased by 0.79% with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings growing by 18.84%.

The euro went down by 0.37% compared to the dollar, with the exchange rate of 1.12568 at 4:07 pm ET.
