US opens higher as investors focus on stimulus talks

Major stock indexes in the United States started Friday's trading session higher as investors focused on stimulus talks. White House economic advisor Larry Kudlow said that "there are still significant policy differences between the two sides" in the negotiations on the coronavirus stimulus bill.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average grew by 0.23% at the opening bell with Merck & Co. increasing by 1.46%. The Nasdaq 100 went up by 0.14% as Gilead Sciences grew by 3.71% at the same time. The S&P 500 advanced 0.37%. Capital One Financial Corp was the best performer jumping by 4.21%.

The euro went up by 0.26% against the dollar at 9:29 am ET to sell for 1.18502.
