Stocks of major global airlines surged on Monday after Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE revealed that their vaccine candidate has shown a 90% effectivity in the prevention of the infection during the third phase trials. In Europe, Deutsche Lufthansa AG grew 19.50% to €8.902 at 2:13 pm CET, while Air France-KLM SA jumped 24.13% to €3.822 at 2 pm CET. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA soared 29.30% to £135.15 at 2:03 pm CET. In the United States premarket trade, American Airlines Group Inc. surged 25.31%, United Airlines Holdings Inc. was up 20.27%, Delta Air Lines Inc. was 18.40% higher, Southwest Airlines Co. advanced 16.47%. |
