Chairman of South Korea's ruling Democratic Party (DP) Lee Nak-yon (pictured) stated on Tuesday the organization would demand additions to the country's budget that would provide more aid to those economically affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

"The DP will prepare the fourth round of the disaster assistance fund. It will draw up a sufficient supplementary budget," Lee said. "To the vulnerable and victimized people who were driven to the precipice by disease prevention measures, the assistance will be given abundantly."

Back in December, Finance Minister Hong Nam-ki remarked South Korea was planning to support the V-shaped recovery of the economy. Meanwhile, the Bank of Korea (BoK) warned the country's monetary policies must be adjusted to the rebound.
