Europe higher premarket despite Brexit, growth worries

Major markets in Europe were in the green on Monday during premarket trading in London, Paris and Frankfurt as investors digested reports regarding economic growth slowdown in the United Kingdom. The British Chamber of Commerce (BCC) downgraded the growth forecast for 2020 from 1.3% to 1.0%, and from 1.4% to 1.2% for 2021. Meanwhile, on the political front, polls showed Britons consider Tory MP and the front runner to become the next leader of the Conservative Party Boris Johnson the strongest candidate for the role of the next prime minister.

The FTSE 100 was up 0.35% during premarket trading at 7:54 am CET, while the DAX rose 0.23%. The CAC 40 increased 0.16%.

The euro gained 0.05% against the greenback to go for 1.1215 at 7:56 am CET.
