European markets close mixed amid data, Brexit uncertainties

European stock markets ended the trading session on Thursday with mixed results amid somewhat positive economic data and continuous uncertainties pertaining to the United Kingdom leaving the European Union. An unnamed UK government official stated that it was "not likely" that a new Brexit deal will be reached next week. Eurozone Composite Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) for February 2019 reached a 3-month high, as the German service sector grew in the second month of 2019, albeit slow.

The DAX increased by 0.19% after the closing bell with Fresenius SE+CO.KGAA O.N. being the best performer with a 2.41% rise. The CAC 40 rose 0.02% as Bouygues increased 4.02%. The FTSE 100 was 0.93% lower as after the session's end.

The euro lost 0.06% against the dollar, changing hands for 1.1334 at 5:33 pm CET, while the pound was down 0.06% higher for $1.3050 at the same time.
