European markets extend losses

Stocks in Europe continued their decline as United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson was scheduled to give a speech in Parliament on Wednesday. UK Supreme Court ruled yesterday that Johnson's suspension of Parliament was unlawful. Johnson met with United States President Donald Trump on Tuesday in New York, with both leaders agreeing that Brexit must be completed. Trump will face a formal impeachment inquiry, as United States House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced on Tuesday.

The DAX declined 1.14% at 12:50 pm CET, as Fresenius Medical Care recorded the biggest fall of 2.84%. The FTSE 100 was down 1.07% at 12:31 pm CET, as TUI AG plunged 6.07%. In France, the CAC 40 index decreased by 1.48% at 12:36 pm CET, with LVMH having lost 2.76%.

The euro decreased compared to dollar 0.24%, selling 1.09934 at 12:53 pm CET, as the pound dropped 0.49% against the greenback to change hands for 1.24316.
