American semiconductor manufacturer, Xilinx Inc, revealed on Wednesday it secured a deal with Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. to provide the South Korean conglomerate with computing chips for its 5G networking appliances.

The company revealed Samsung's devices with 5G connectivity will be equipped with Xilinx's Versal adaptive compute acceleration platform (ACAP), enabling beamforming, which focuses the wireless signal towards a specific gadget, allowing for more data to be processed, instead of the signal spreading in all directions from the antenna.
