Wall Street closes mixed after US pulls out of digital tax talks

Stock markets in the United States finished Wednesday's trading session mixed after Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer confirmed media reports that Washinton pulled out of global digital tax talks. Meanwhile, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell warned that the shock caused by the pandemic is without precedent and vowed that the central bank will continue to support the economy until it recovers.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 0.65% after the closing bell. Exxon Mobil Corp. decreased 3.28%. The Nasdaq 100 rose 0.33% as BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. gained 4.56%. The S&P 500 surrendered 0.36% with Carnival Corp. dropping 6.51%.

The euro was down 0.22% against the dollar to sell for $1.12393 at 3:59 pm ET.
