Roche to look for approval of COVID-19 test in Japan

F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG allegedly plans to apply for approval of its combined coronavirus, influenza PCR test with the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.

According to Nikkei, this test, together with the new reagent, will be able to automatically analyze samples from a maximum of 96 people with the results coming in only three hours.

The company confirmed earlier it has received FDA emergency use authorization for a test that can quickly discover if a patient has COVID-19 or one of two forms of influenza.
