US opens higher as Trump calls for airline companies aid

Major stock market indexes in the United States started the trading session with gains on Wednesday after United States President Donald Trump urged both the lower and the upper congressional chamber to roll out the economic bill offering $25 billion to help airline companies, heavily affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, JPMorgan upgraded United Airlines and JetBlue companies to overweight.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.72% or 235 points. Boeing Co was the best performer going up by 2.97%. The Nasdaq 100 grew by 1.09% at the opening bell with Sirius XM Holdings jumping by 4.86%. The S&P 500 opened the session 0.93% up. United Airlines Holdings increased by 6.19%.

The euro increased by 0.37% versus the dollar, selling for $1.17756 at 9:27 am ET.
