US oil production to stay below 13M bpd - Brouillette

It will be a while before the United States starts pumping 13 million barrels of crude oil per day once again, Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette said on Wednesday.

Putting the trend down to the coronavirus pandemic, the secretary added demand remains low. Brouillette now sees production in the US at around 11 million barrels per day in 2021.

However, he also stressed that the US needs a "robust" oil and gas industry and that the goal can be achieved through public and private partnerships.
