Dow closes above 30,000 pts for the first time in history

Wall Street ended deep in the green on Tuesday following the news that the distribution of Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine would likely start by mid-December.

The presidency transition officially began, as the General Services Administration (GSA) authorized President-elect Joe Biden to access federal funding. In business news, Tesla Inc. skyrocketed to new highs and surpassed the $500 billion market cap as the stock rally continued.

The Dow Jones jumped 1.54% or 454 points to close above 30,000 at a new record high, as Chevron Corp. led the gains by advancing 5.03%. The Nasdaq 100 soared 1.46% or 173 points, with Tesla surging 6.43%. The S&P 500 rose 1.62% at the end of the session to stand just 10 points behind its highest value. Dollar Tree climbed 14.08% to stand as the top gainer. Meanwhile, the euro stood flat against the dollar to go for 1.18896 at 4:01 pm ET.
